“Herbs” draws inspiration from the Compendium of Materia Medica 《本草纲目》- a timeless masterpiece of Traditional Chinese Medicine that weaves together healing, botany, and culture.

“Meta” connects with the Chinese character “元 (Yuan),” which means both origin and infinite possibility. Just like “Meta” in English, it carries a spirit of exploration and transformation.

At Herbs Meta | 本草元, we honor the wisdom of the ancients while carrying their legacy into the future-bringing balance, health, and wellness into modern life.

本草元的名字源自中国传统医学的瑰宝《本草纲目》。这部横跨药学、植物学与文化的巨著，凝聚了古人智慧的结晶。

“元”寓意起点、元亨利贞，也象征无限可能，与英文 “Meta” 相呼应，传递开拓与变革的精神。

我们致敬古人创造的伟大成就，同时立志承载这份传承，面向未来，为现代社会带来更多健康与平衡。

Andrew Zheng

Andrew has long held a profound passion for health and medicine, dedicating over twenty years to the rigorous study and practice of medical science. He possesses extensive medical knowledge and clinical experience, with particular expertise in meridian diagnosis and therapy, acupuncture and other traditional treatment methods

Andrew在健康领域一直抱有极大的热情，二十多年来精勤不倦探索医道，拥有丰富的医学知识和临床经验。擅长经络诊疗、针灸等传统疗法，结合中医智慧与现代医学，为患者缓解痛楚、调理体质、恢复健康。他能以中、英、俄三语服务社区，深受不同文化背景患者的信任。

By integrating the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern medical approaches, he helps patients alleviate pain, restore health, and optimize their overall well-being. Fluent in Chinese, English, and Russian, he is able to serve diverse communities and has earned the trust of patients from various cultural backgrounds.

Since 2004, Andrew has completed systematic training at several esteemed institutions: Doctor of Medicine (MD, Russia) at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University in 2010, the Health, Wellness and Fitness program at Mohawk College in Canada, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner program at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has also pursued advanced mentorship under a highly respected master in China.

In addition to his clinical practice, Andrew serves as an instructor at TCM colleges, where he is dedicated to research and the dissemination of knowledge in the health field. He teaches Meridians, Acupoints, Acupuncture Therapeutics, Clinical Internship, and other academic courses.

Guided by a compassionate commitment to “Heal the World”, Andrew aspires to be a devoted and trusted practitioner, accompanying his patients on the path to health with expertise, care, and integrity.

自2004年起，Andrew曾先后在莫斯科国立谢东诺夫第一医科大学的临床医学系（MD，俄罗斯，2010年）、加拿大莫哈克学院的健康保健健身专业以及安大略中医学院的中医师专业完成系统学习，并曾师从国内名医深造。

临床坐诊之余，Andrew亦在中医学院任教，热衷于研究和分享他在健康领域的知识，讲授经络学、腧穴学、针灸治疗学、临床门诊等专业课程。

秉持着“誓愿普救含灵之苦”的仁和之心，Andrew立志成为精诚之医，用专业、关怀和信任陪伴患者走向健康。

Melody Tian, R.TCMP, R.Ac

Melody is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Registered Acupuncturist in Ontario, as well as an instructor at Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (OCTCM).

她毕业于安大略中医学院，因学业成绩优异、临床功底扎实，被多所中医学院聘为讲师。近五年来，Melody主要教授中医诊断学及带领学生临床实习，以丰富的实践经验，以及专业、细致和富有同理心的行医态度，深受众多患者与学生好评

Melody graduated from OCTCM, and due to her outstanding academic performance and clinical expertise, she has been invited to teach at multiple TCM colleges. For nearly five years, Melody has been teaching TCM Diagnostics and supervising clinical internships, guiding students in real-world patient care. She is highly regarded by both her patients and students for her professionalism, compassion, and deep understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Melody excels in TCM diagnosis, particularly in tongue diagnosis. Her treatment philosophy emphasizes a holistic and results-oriented approach — not only relieving symptoms but also addressing the root cause. Her patients often report significant improvement not only in their main complaints but also in their overall energy, sleep, and emotional well-being. She has extensive experience treating stress and anxiety, headaches and migraines, insomnia, digestive disorders, joint and muscle pain, menstrual irregularities, and more.

Melody’s sensitivity and empathy allow her to connect deeply with her patients, supporting them effectively on their journey toward restored balance, vitality, and well-being.

Yi Ling Chan，R. TCMP, R. AC

Yi Ling holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD, Russia) degree from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (2008) and practiced Western family medicine for six years in Malaysia. 

她于2008年毕业于俄罗斯国立谢东诺夫第一医科大学，获得医学（MD, 俄罗斯）学位，并在马来西亚从事西医家庭医学临床工作六年。

Yi Ling’s journey in medicine has been a profound exploration of healing from both the East and the West, all driven by an enduring mission: to ease pain and help patients achieve a better quality of life.

She holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD, Russia) degree from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (2008) and practiced Western family medicine for six years in Malaysia. This experience gave her a rigorous, scientific understanding of human physiology and disease, and most importantly, taught her the value of listening to patients and building long-term therapeutic relationships. Motivated by a commitment to holistic care, Yi Ling undertook formal training in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Canada and became a licensed practitioner.

Yi Ling believes that true healing happens when treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Her unique dual training allows her to offer a truly integrative perspective, drawing from the best of both medical traditions to create personalized TCM treatment plans.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Yi Ling is multilingual. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, and Malay, which enables her to communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

她于2008年毕业于俄罗斯国立谢东诺夫第一医科大学，获得医学（MD, 俄罗斯）学位，并在马来西亚从事西医家庭医学临床工作六年。这段经历不仅赋予她对人体生理与疾病的严谨科学理解，更重要的是，使她深刻体会到倾听患者以及建立长期医患关系的价值。出于对整体医疗的执着追求，Yi Ling在加拿大接受了系统的中医专业培训，并取得注册执业资格。
