The most common assumption is that any clinic offering acupuncture can bill it to your plan. That is not how acupuncture coverage works in Ontario. Two conditions have to be met before a single dollar is billed.
The first is your plan. Direct billing is only possible when your insurer participates in electronic claims for acupuncture and your specific plan includes an acupuncture benefit. Some plans allow direct billing; others reimburse you but only after you submit the claim yourself. At reception we confirm your eligibility, treat you, then submit the claim at checkout. You pay only the portion your plan does not cover.
